Responsibilities

• Ensure operational files are handled according to process flows.
• Maintain the highest levels of customer service and promptly respond to client queries.
• Liaise with client and supplier throughout shipment processes.
• Source vehicles to meet customers' requirements.
• Monitor trucks en route and escalate overdue vehicles to management.
• Assist clients with queries related to operations and documentary requirements.
• Track orders until goods are stacked or delivered and keep clients updated.
• Prepare transport bookings for contracted hauliers with locations, details, rates and requirements.
• Arrange cargo delivery in line with client clearance instructions.
• Ensure transport is executed correctly and cargo delivered on time.
• Handle invoicing.

Job description

To effectively manage & control the movement of cargo from the designated origin to the prescribed destination in line with the clients instructions & requirements whilst adhering to company policies, procedures & requirements.

Key Result Areas

• Ensure that operational files are handled in accordance with the various process flows.
• Ensure the highest levels of customer service at all times and attend to client requests and queries promptly.
• Liaise with client/supplier effectively throughout shipment
• Source vehicles to fill customers requirements
• Monitor trucks en route - proactively chasing up overdue trucks and elevate long overdue vehicles to management
• Assist client with any queries related to operations and documentary requirements needed to successfully facilitate the transport process.
• Monitor orders placed until such time as the goods have been confirmed as stacked or delivered, constantly keeping the client updated on the progress.
• Forward a transport booking order to the contracted haulier stipulating the collection and delivery locations, OOG and hazardous details (if applicable), and the agreed rate as well as any special requirements.
• Arrange for the cargo to be delivered in accordance with the client's clearing instructions/requirements.
• Ensure the transport is executed properly and cargo is delivered on time
