The transformation strategy must be aligned with the broader business strategy, and the role also supports the development and implementation of the Employment Equity (EE) plan.

The role acts as a strategic interface between the company, government agencies, local communities, business forums, industry bodies, suppliers, emerging enterprises, and project stakeholders — maximising shared value, supporting business sustainability, and strengthening the company's social licence to operate.
