Job summary

Career Minded in Witbank is seeking a Training Manager (Mechanical) to provide strategic leadership and overall management of the Mechanical Technical Training function within the institution. The role ensures the integrity, quality, and compliance of all training programmes with QCTO, SETA and NAMB standards, while developing, mentoring and supervising Training Officers and driving learner outcomes.

Salary offered is between R137,500 and R150,000 per month with 32 days leave, annual bonus

Qualifications

• 8+ years post-trade experience.
• 5+ years managing or supervising a training section.
• Experience with trade test/EISA coordination.
• Experience with ARPL processes.
• Experience with SETA, QCTO and NAMB compliance.
• There are 3 Training Supervisors and an overall team of 26 reporting into the role.
• Artisan in mechanical trade is essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership of the Mechanical Technical Training function.

The purpose of the Training Manager to provide strategic leadership and overall management of the Mechanical Technical Training function within the institution.

The role is accountable for the integrity, quality, and compliance of all training programmes, ensuring alignment with QCTO, SETA, and NAMB standards.

It encompasses the development, performance management, and mentoring of Training Officers, the oversight of operational and quality assurance processes, and the implementation of strategic initiatives to maintain accreditation, optimise departmental performance, and drive excellence in learner outcomes.

Salary: R137,500 – R150,000 per month.

Requirements:

• Minimum 8 years’ post-trade experience.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience managing or supervising a training section.
• Experience in trade test/EISA coordination.
• Experience in ARPL processes.
• Experience working with SETA, QCTO and NAMB compliance processes.
• Demonstrated supervisory experience. There are 3 Training Supervisors and an overall team of 26 reporting into the role.
• Relevant B Degree/ BTech – advantageous.
• Qualified Artisan in a relevant trade (mecahnical) – essential.
• OD-ETDP Level 5 Qualification.
• Management Certificate – essential.

Package & Remuneration:

• R1.65m – R1.8m per annum tctc.
• The above includes employer contributions to med aid and pension, car allowance, guaranteed 13th #.
• Leave 32 days pa.
• Annual bonus depends on company performance.
