Job summary

HotelJobs is seeking a Trails Guide for a Private Game Reserve near Montagu to join a team of guides. You will help ensure top-notch guest services and share specialist knowledge with colleagues and guests.

Duties include game drives & guided walks, anticipating needs and planning ahead, communicating clearly, hosting guests, and assisting with vehicle and reserve maintenance. You are expected to hold FGASA Level 2 and other required certifications for Big 5 reserves.

Qualifications

• FGASA Field Guide Level 2 is required.
• At least 3 years’ experience as a Trails Guide / Senior Field Guide at a Big 5 reserve.
• Full Trails Guide qualification.
• Firearm competency.
• ARH certification.
• Valid First Aid Certificate.
• Valid Drivers License.
• Four years’ experience in a similar Big 5 role.
• Ability to read a map and follow directions or use GPS.
• Basic Microsoft Office skills.

Private Game Reserve close to Montagu is looking for a Trails Guide to be part of a team of guides to ensure the highest level of guest services and share specialist knowledge with colleagues and guests.

Requirements:

• Competent in operation of different types of transport vehicles, electronic/digital communication systems and equipment


• Competent in operation of rifle equipment


• Ability to follow set standards of performance as expected by the organisation and the local legislation


• Able to use Microsoft Office applications at a basic level


• Ability to accurately read a map, follow directions, or programme and follow directions from a GPS system


• Conversant with specialist terminology including, Wildlife, Security and Conservation
