Job summary

EdUpStairs in Western Cape seeks a dependable general maintenance assistant. Carry out minor maintenance tasks and assist with repairs, including after-hours breakdowns, and help install equipment.

You will keep work areas clear, ensure tools and materials are available, and support artisans in their duties. Relevant safe-work practices and physical fitness are required.

Qualifications

• Grade 10 or equivalent.
• Experience in maintenance field.
• Experience with workshop tools.
• Willingness to standby and work overtime.
• Physically fit for manual labour.
• Ability to handle tools, parts and materials.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Ability to speak at least two official Western Cape languages.
• Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety.

Responsibilities

• Carry out minor maintenance tasks.
• Assist with repairs and emergency breakdowns (including after hours’ repairs).
• Assist with the installation of plants, equipment and alterations.
• Clear areas where work has been carried out.
• Ensure that tools and material are available when needed.
• Assist the Artisans in the execution of their duties.
