Job summary

Trackmaster is seeking an experienced professional to oversee railway track construction, maintenance, inspections, and repairs across mining sites. The role requires willingness to travel and work away from home as needed.

The ideal candidate will hold a Trackmaster Diploma (Transnet or R&H) and have at least 5 years of proven trackmaster experience in railway, mining, or heavy industry, with a strong commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Trackmaster Diploma obtained through Transnet or R&H (Robor/Rand & Herring).
• Minimum 5 years' proven experience as a Trackmaster within the railway, mining, or heavy industrial sector.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate railway track construction, maintenance, and rehabilitation projects.
• Conduct inspections of railway tracks, turnouts, crossings, and associated infrastructure.
• Identify defects and implement corrective maintenance to ensure track safety and compliance.
• Ensure all work is carried out according to Transnet, mining, and industry standards.
• Lead and supervise track maintenance teams on-site.
• Plan and allocate resources, equipment, and manpower effectively.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
• Maintain accurate inspection, maintenance, and project records.
• Liaise with site management and other departments to coordinate rail maintenance activities.
• Participate in emergency repairs and breakdowns when required.
• Be available to travel and work away from home on various mining projects.

Position Overview

Our client in the mining industry is seeking an experienced and qualified Trackmaster to join their team. • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

• Willingness to travel extensively and work at remote mine sites.
