Responsibilities

• Monitor and authorise orders to meet budget constraints.
• Control equipment distribution and promote reclamation.
• Conduct health and safety meetings, ensuring compliance.

• Promote reclamation and use of reclaimed materials.
• Monitor overtime, stand-by and shift patterns.
• Scrutinise labour utilisation and productivity metrics.
• Review daily/weekly production data and take corrective actions.
• Ensure adherence to operating standards and legal requirements.
• Lead health and safety meetings and ensure safety practices.
• Oversee accident and incident investigations and risk assessments.
• Inspect underground conditions and enforce corrective actions.
• Analyse service-department reports and implement improvements.

Hire Resolve's client, a leading mining company, is currently seeking a skilled Mine Overseer to join their team based in Limpopo.

Requirements:

• Senior Certificate (Grade 12)
• Mine Overseer’s Ticket / Mine Manager Certificate
• Post Matric Qualification in Mining (advantageous)
• Min 5 years’ experience in Trackless Mining
• Min 3 years Platinum experience

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Monitor and authorise orders and ensure that budget constraints are met.
• Monitor and follow up on break downs to reduce minimum delays
• Initiate and enforce corrective actions in line with disciplinary procedure
• Liaise with all relevant persons and departments about services required
• Control the distribution of equipment
• Promote reclamation and the use of reclaimed equipment and material
• Monitor overtime, stand-by and odd shifts
• Scrutinize labour utilisation
• Monitor daily and weekly production measurements and results and initiate corrective action
• Ensure that special instructions are implemented, correct operating standards and procedures are up to date and understood by the team
• Ensure continuous compliance to legal requirements
• Conduct health and safety meetings, co-ordinate safety, health and hygiene in the section
• Drive and control accident and incident investigation process
• Conduct risk assessments to eliminate, minimise and control risks
• Inspect underground conditions, record substandard operations/ conditions and enforce corrective action
• Scrutinize reports from service departments and take corrective action
