Job summary

Beaver Migration and Recruitment is seeking an experienced Toolmaker for a permanent position in Belgium. The role focuses on maintaining, repairing, and manufacturing precision injection molds within a modern toolroom.

You will work with CNC and conventional equipment to ensure high-quality tooling and production efficiency. The successful candidate will relocate with employer-sponsored immigration support and join a leading European supplier of precision tooling.

Qualifications

• Formal Toolmaking qualification or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven toolmaking, mold maintenance, or precision machining experience.
• Strong milling/turning/grinding/polishing and precision machining skills.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and CAD designs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, service, and repair precision injection molds.
• Manufacture and rework mold components using conventional and CNC machining.
• Perform milling, turning, grinding, polishing and precision fitting.
• Diagnose wear, damage and performance issues in molds.
• Implement tooling improvements and engineering modifications.
• Read CAD drawings and CAD models to support tooling work.

About the Role

As a Toolmaker, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the reliability and performance of precision injection molds that support high-volume manufacturing.

Working within a modern toolroom, you'll use your machining expertise to repair, modify, optimise, and manufacture tooling that keeps production running efficiently and to the highest quality standards.

What You'll Be Doing

Your responsibilities will include:

• Maintaining, servicing, and repairing precision injection molds

• Manufacturing and reworking mold components using conventional and CNC machining equipment

• Performing milling, turning, grinding, polishing, and precision fitting

• Diagnosing mold wear, damage, and performance issues

• Implementing tooling improvements and engineering modifications

• Reading and interpreting technical drawings, CAD models, and engineering specifications

• Working to tight tolerances using precision measuring equipment

• Maintaining a safe, clean, and organised toolroom environment

• Collaborating with engineering and production teams to improve tooling performance and manufacturing efficiency

We're Looking For

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

• A qualification in Toolmaking, Mechanical Engineering, Precision Mechanics, or equivalent practical experience

• Proven experience in toolmaking, mold maintenance, mold manufacturing, or precision machining

• Strong knowledge of milling, turning, grinding, polishing, and precision machining processes

• The ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and CAD designs

• Experience working to tight tolerances using precision measuring equipment

• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills

• The ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative engineering team

Advantageous Experience

• EDM (Wire EDM or Sinker EDM)

• CNC machining

• Injection mold design modifications

• High-volume manufacturing environments

Candidate Requirements

• South African citizen

• Willing and able to relocate to Belgium

• Good Afrikaans proficiency is essential

• Valid passport (or willing to obtain one)

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality workmanship
