Job summary

Crew Life at Sea Ltd. is seeking a Costume Designer to collaborate with the production team to create costumes that reflect the vision of each production or event. You will research fabrics, render designs, and provide detailed specifications for each costume.

Responsibilities include overseeing construction and fittings, coordinating with hair and makeup, managing budgets, and ensuring performers' comfort and mobility. Proficiency in fabrics and sewing, plus software skills, are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Costume Design or related field.
• Strong knowledge of fabrics, sewing techniques and costume construction.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in costume design, preferably in a theatrical or entertainment setting.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the production team to create costume designs that align with the overall vision and theme of each production or event
• Research and source materials, fabrics, and accessories to bring the designs to life
• Create sketches, renderings, and specifications for each costume, including details such as fabric type, color, and trimmings
• Oversee the construction and fitting of costumes, ensuring accuracy and quality
• Collaborate with the hair and makeup team to ensure a cohesive look for each performer
• Manage costume budgets and track expenses
• Maintain and organize costume inventory, including repairs and replacements as needed
• Work closely with performers to ensure their comfort and mobility in their costumes
• Attend rehearsals and performances to make any necessary adjustments or repairs
• Stay up-to-date on current fashion trends and techniques to bring fresh ideas to the design process
