Job summary

Crew Life at Sea Ltd. is hiring a Backstage Technician to join our onboard production team. You will install and maintain lighting, sound and rigging systems, support performers during rehearsals and shows, and troubleshoot on the fly to keep performances seamless.

The role requires strong teamwork, safety awareness, and the ability to work in a fast-paced cruise-ship environment. Flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, are expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years experience as a Backstage Technician in live performances or events.
• Knowledge of lighting, sound and rigging equipment.
• Ability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Team player with safety-focused mindset.
• Willing to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Physically capable of lifting and moving heavy equipment.
• Experience on a cruise ship is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain all technical equipment and props for performances and events onboard a cruise ship.
• Assist performers and production team with technical needs during rehearsals and shows.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during performances.
• Ensure equipment is stored and maintained properly.
• Assist with load-in and load-out of gear at ports of call.
• Collaborate with technicians and crew to ensure successful productions.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment at all times.
• Attend safety and technical trainings as required.
