Job summary

Abantu Staffing Solutions in Pretoria is seeking a meticulous Vehicle Test Technician to conduct vehicle testing in line with client and company standards. You will use hydraulic, pneumatic and electric tools, ensure safety, and uphold ISO 9001/14001/45001 requirements during pre-delivery inspections.

The role requires Grade 12, a valid Code B license, a Vehicle Technician certification, and 3–5 years in logistics or supply chain environments.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 with English fluency, written and spoken.
• Vehicle Technician qualification, Nissan N-STEP preferred.
• Mechanical Trade Test certification.
• Valid Code B driver’s license with no endorsements.

Responsibilities

• Understand the test request details and ensure tasks are performed safely, accurately and efficiently.
• Implement requested work or reports; monitor and report issues, faults and results.
• Monitor progress and escalate off-spec findings to management.
• Ensure processes align with Client and Company Quality and Safety Standards.
• Design and develop test jigs to improve operational processes if needed.
• Maintain accuracy in data capture and reporting.

Responsible for conducting vehicle testing in accordance with Company and Customers' standards and requirements; maintain and improve Quality of testing, observing the appropriate testing methods; utilising relevant tools and equipment to effectively execute testing procedures.

Education and Experience:

• Grade 12 with English fluency (written and spoken)

• Vehicle Technician (Nissan N-STEP preferred)

• Mechanical Trade Test Certified

• Valid Code B (08) driver's license with no endorsement

• Ability to work under pressure as well as strict timelines

• Knowledge in usage of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electric equipment

• Computer Literate in MS Office Applications;

• Worked in the logistics/supply chain environment for at least 3 - 5 years.

Responsibilities:

• Understanding the details of the test request provided: Ensuring that all required details are affected: tasks conducted safely, accurately, and efficiently

• Implementation of requested work or report making: Monitor and report on issues, faults and results

• Monitor and track progress and elevate any off-spec findings to management.

• Ensure that processes and procedures required by the test operation are performed in accordance with the Client and Company Quality and Safety Standards;

• Design, and develop test jigs to improve operational processes if necessary

• Effect continuous accuracy in the capturing and reporting of data

• Conduct Pre-delivery Inspection of vehicles

• Conduct fault finding investigations on problem vehicles

• Ensure all tools and equipment are in good working condition

• Ensure vehicles are fitted in allocated in accordance with standards and procedures.

• Ensure department adheres to ISO 9001 Quality Processes and standards

• Ensure department adheres to ISO 14001 Environmental Processes and standards

• Ensure department adheres to ISO 45001 Health and Safety standards
