Datonomy Solutions (Pty) Ltd is seeking a Test Manager for an SAP S/4HANA implementation in Cape Town. This onsite contracting role will lead test strategy, planning, and execution across multiple teams and vendors.

You will coordinate test environments, data, and access, oversee functional and non-functional testing, and provide evidence-based quality reporting to programme leadership.

Job description

We are seeking a Test Manager to join our team based in Cape Town This is a contracting role, onsite.

Role purpose

Lead the test strategy and execution for an SAP S/4HANA implementation. Provide reliable evidence of solution quality and business readiness, coordinating specialist testers, functional consultants and business users across the programme.

Key responsibilities

• Define the test strategy, test phases, entry and exit criteria, scope, schedule and resource plan in line with programme risks.
• Map business requirements and process risks to test coverage, including relevant system, integration, regression and user acceptance testing.
• Coordinate environments, representative test data, roles and access, and dependencies on migration and interface teams.
• Lead test execution and defect triage across business teams, SAP consultants, vendors and technical delivery teams.
• Plan validation of migrated data, reconciliations and critical end to end business journeys with accountable process owners.
• Coordinate non functional, security and performance test coverage with the specialists responsible for those disciplines.
• Provide transparent quality reporting, residual risk assessments and test completion recommendations for deployment. Support smoke testing and hypercare.

Essential experience and capabilities

• Proven test management experience on an SAP S/4HANA implementation, including integrated business process testing.
• Experience leading test planning, execution, defect management and business user acceptance across multiple teams.
• Understanding of ERP data migration, reconciliation, interfaces, role based access and their implications for test coverage.
• Ability to manage test environments and data dependencies and distinguish blocked execution from actual solution quality.
• Experience presenting test status and residual risk to programme leadership, with clear recommendations and evidence.
• Ability to coordinate deployment validation and work constructively with business process owners and implementation partners.

Preferred experience and capabilities

• Retail or distribution systems testing and exposure to finance, procurement or inventory processes.
• Experience integrating automation into SAP regression testing and using a recognised test management platform.
• ISTQB or relevant SAP certification, backed by delivery experience.

Expected outcomes

• Critical business processes have traceable coverage, named test owners and usable test environments and data.
• Defects, execution progress and residual risks provide a reliable basis for programme decisions.
• Business acceptance and deployment validation are supported by documented evidence and an agreed approach to outstanding issues.
