Job summary

Boardroom Appointments in South Africa is seeking a Test Lead II responsible for test automation of our products and websites. You will help improve quality by automating functional tests in an agile environment.

The role involves coordinating testing activities, selecting tools, developing test plans, and collaborating with customers and stakeholders to ensure high-coverage, reliable releases.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in IT or related technical field.
• Software testing training and ISTQB/ISEB registration.
• Experience in systems testing, integration testing, end-to-end testing, UAT, and performance and automated testing.
• Proficiency with Google Suite and MS Office; familiarity with Cloud Testing (Azure/AWS) and CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Project Team and Stakeholders to define the testing strategy for development projects.
• Coordinate all testers during each testing phase of a project or programme.
• Determine tools and utilities for given situation/project.
• Develop, modify, and ensure test plans are executed.
• Provide accurate estimates for task duration with confidence levels and dependencies.
• Initiate test planning activities.
• Represent customer usage in test plans and automation.
• Define test strategy and plans and review with stakeholders.
• Identify testing scope for each release based on requirements.
• Ensure Test Lab assets are in place to meet testing needs.
• Liaise with Test Lab Manager for new equipment needs.
• Plan Lab resource access for testing.
• Ensure optimal test coverage and improve coverage where needed.
• Identify testing effort and plan resources accordingly.
• Select tools for test reporting, management, and automation; plan automation where appropriate.
• Publish test plan after team discussions and obtain management approval.

As a Test Lead II, you will be responsible for the test automation of our products and websites. You'll help us to improve the quality of our products and deliver bug-free software by automating functional testing in an agile environment.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Project Team and Stakeholders as required to agree the testing strategy to be employed for development projects
• Coordinate all activity and all testers during each testing phase of a project and/or programme
• Determine which tools and utilities work best and how to use them for given situation/project
• Develop, modify, and ensure that software testing plans are executed
• Provide accurate and precise estimates for assigned task duration, along with confidence levels and foreseeable dependencies
• Initiate test planning activities
• Represent the customer in understanding how they use the system and include the most relevant end to end user scenarios in test plans and automation
• Defining test strategy and test plans and review them with stakeholders
• Identify the testing scope required for each release based on the requirements
• Ensure the Test Lab assets are in place or planned for, to meet testing requirements
• Laise with the Test Lab Manager in the event there are new equipment required
• Plan Resource Access to the Lab for required testing
• Ensure optimal test coverage and improve the test coverage where needed
• Identify the testing effort required by calculating the sizing needed for the given. release and plan the required effort for the same
• Identify the tools to be used for test reporting, test management, test automation, etc. and identify when test automation is appropriate and, if it is, plan the effort
• Estimate the testing resources and time required and negotiate with management to acquire the necessary resources
• Publish the test plan after discussions with the test team and have it reviewed and approved by the management/ development team

Qualifications and experience:

• Diploma or Degree qualified (IT or related technical)
• Software testing training and registration (e.g. ISTQB, ISEB)
• Experience in systems testing, systems integration testing, end-to-end testing, user acceptance testing and both Performance and Automated testing
• Google Suite / MS Office Suite
• Cloud Testing (Azure/AWS) and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery Experience
• Proven experience in Test Management/Test Lead within cross-functional delivery areas and multiple projects
