Job description

Test Preparation & Planning

• Establish and train teams on optimal methods for effort estimation; provide final estimations for large, complex projects
• Plan for known risks and proactively anticipate new risks and edge scenarios
• Complete test planning within allocated timeframes and proactively resolve roadblocks
• Identify key dependencies, understand deployment dates, and ensure test scope is defined accurately and proficiently
• Actively research and review new and emerging test strategies

Test Execution

• Analyse test execution results and activities to implement and improve overall test execution processes
• Remove or elevate issues that create roadblocks to test progress
• Execute functional testing of world‑class slot games

Test Completion, Review & Improvement

• Review completion activities including test artefacts; define and implement project handover tasks
• Improve test strategy by leveraging experience from previous projects
• Continuously refine test cases through regular reviews based on knowledge gained during testing

Environment & Defect Management

• Set up and troubleshoot test environments for simple and medium complexity projects; seek guidance for complex projects
• Escalate software and environment issues and follow through to resolution
• Evaluate defect reports and drive latent defect prevention, incorporating industry principles of software testing
• Ensure identified issue resolutions are communicated clearly to relevant stakeholders

Stakeholder Management

• Manage stakeholder relationships aligned to programme focus
• Inspire customer confidence through professional presence, execution, and delivery

Standards & Process Improvement

• Implement new standards and processes to continually optimise the team's quality practices
• Adhere to and improve existing quality frameworks and documentation

Coaching, Mentoring & Knowledge Sharing

• Provide support to others and co‑create development plans with measurable, defined outputs
• Proactively share knowledge with the team in a concise, verifiable manner
• Provide training and mentorship to Studio testing teams on test strategy and test approach

Test Automation

• Design, build, and maintain automated test suites that provide reliable, repeatable coverage across the product
• Select and champion appropriate automation frameworks and tools (e.g. Selenium, Cypress, Playwright) suited to the product and team maturity
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to enable fast feedback on every build
• Define and enforce automation best practices – including page object models, data‑driven testing, and maintainable test architecture
• Continuously expand automation coverage, identifying areas of manual effort that can be replaced or augmented by automation
• Monitor automated test runs, triage failures, and ensure results are actionable and trusted by the team
• Coach and upskill team members on automation tools, patterns, and strategy

Live, Load & Performance Testing

• Identify optimisations for the live testing process and train others on the subject
• Execute load and performance tests independently with minimal assistance

Technical Knowledge

• Solid understanding of the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
• Relevant technical skills in software testing tools and methodologies
• Experience using AI tools to drive testing efficiency and innovation – including AI‑assisted test generation, intelligent defect analysis, and predictive quality insights
• Strong hands‑on experience with test automation frameworks (e.g. Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or equivalent) – writing, maintaining, and scaling automated test suites
• Proven ability to integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and shift quality left in the delivery process

Qualifications

• IT‑related degree/diploma (BDc/BCom/NDip) with at least 4 years' IT testing experience, OR
• Senior Level Assessment with 6 years' testing experience
• ISTQB Foundation Level Certification required (or Entry Level Testing Certification as minimum)
• Leadership experience required – proven mentoring and coaching exposure
• Demonstrated experience using AI to improve quality processes and test efficiency
• Demonstrated experience with test automation tooling and integrating automated tests into delivery pipelines
