Job summary

Prosperitas Personnel is seeking an experienced Proposals / Tenders Engineer to join a rapidly growing commercial renewable energy company in South Africa. You will develop technically compliant, commercially competitive proposals for solar PV, BESS and energy infrastructure projects.

The role bridges engineering, commercial strategy and business development, taking opportunities from initial review through costing and final submission in collaboration with sales, procurement and project teams.

Qualifications

• BEng / BSc / BTech in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• 3–5+ years' relevant engineering experience.
• Experience in renewable energy, solar PV, electrical infrastructure or a related industry.
• Proven experience in preparing tenders, bids, RFQs, RFPs or technical/commercial proposals
• Strong understanding of electrical systems and commercial solar PV
• Ability to interpret technical specifications, drawings and tender documentation
• Strong commercial and financial awareness
• Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong report-writing and proposal-writing abilities
• Excellent attention to detail and deadline management

Responsibilities

• Review and analyse incoming RFPs, RFQs, tenders, EOIs and other commercial opportunities
• Assess tender requirements, technical specifications, contractual conditions and submission criteria
• Determine technical and commercial requirements for each opportunity
• Coordinate tender inputs from engineering, procurement, finance, legal and project teams
• Develop technically appropriate renewable energy solutions based on client requirements
• Assist with preliminary sizing and design of solar PV and BESS systems
• Review client electricity bills, load profiles and available site information
• Develop preliminary electrical concepts and system configurations
• Prepare detailed project cost estimates and Bills of Quantities
• Obtain and evaluate pricing from equipment suppliers, subcontractors and service providers
• Develop accurate equipment, material and installation costings
• Work closely with procurement to secure competitive supplier pricing
• Assist with determining project margins and commercial assumptions

Package & Remuneration

R650 000 CTC to R780 000 CTC per annum based on experience and qualifications
