About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly competent and proactive Telecoms Systems Administrator to join their fully remote IT team, responsible for managing and maintaining the critical systems that underpin their telecommunications operations. This role is essential for ensuring the stability, security, and optimal performance of servers, applications, and network infrastructure. You will be involved in the installation, configuration, patching, and troubleshooting of various systems, working independently to resolve issues and implement enhancements. Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade server operating systems (Windows, Linux) and related telecom applications.
• Monitor system performance, availability, and resource utilization, proactively identifying and addressing potential issues.
• Implement and manage system security measures, including firewalls, patching, access controls, and antivirus solutions.
• Perform regular system backups and ensure data integrity and recoverability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system hardware, software, and network-related problems in a timely manner.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights across various systems.
• Provide technical support to end-users and other IT teams as needed.
• Contribute to the development and documentation of system administration procedures and policies.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Systems Administrator, with a significant portion within the telecoms industry or supporting critical infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of server operating systems, virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V), and cloud platforms.
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) for automation is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in managing network services such as DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory.
