Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Telecoms Network Administrator in Randburg to manage and maintain critical network infrastructure. The role covers installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and upgrades to ensure stability, security, and performance for telecom systems across Gauteng.

The ideal candidate has 3-5 years in a similar role, strong TCP/IP expertise (BGP/OSPF) and security fundamentals, plus familiarity with Windows Server and Linux environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 3-5 years of experience in a Network Administrator role in telecoms.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP/OSPF, and network security.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain network hardware and software (routers, switches, firewalls, servers).
• Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize speed and reliability.
• Perform regular backups and disaster recovery planning.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls for security.
• Troubleshoot network issues and provide timely resolutions.
• Stay current with networking technologies and security threats; recommend upgrades.
