Job summary

Placements24 seeks a diligent Telecom Network Administrator in Soweto to manage and maintain the network infrastructure. You will handle day-to-day administration, troubleshooting, and user support to ensure secure, reliable connectivity across telecommunications systems.

The role requires hands-on expertise with routers, switches, firewalls, and access points, plus strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently. CCNA/Network+ are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Network Administrator or in a similar role.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and routing protocols.
• Hands-on experience with network devices from major vendors (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Mikrotik).
• Familiarity with network security best practices and tools.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain network hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, and access points.
• Monitor network performance and availability, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
• Implement and manage network security policies and procedures to protect against unauthorized access and threats.
• Perform regular network maintenance, including software updates, patching, and backups.
• Respond to user support requests related to network connectivity and performance.
• Document network configurations, operational procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
