Job summary

Placements24 seeks an experienced Telecoms Field Supervisor in Queenstown, Eastern Cape to lead a team of technicians responsible for installations, maintenance and repairs of network infrastructure.

You will coordinate daily field activities, enforce safety standards, monitor performance, and liaise with project managers and clients to ensure on-time delivery and high-quality workmanship. Competitive salary and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years in telecommunications field operations with 2+ years in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of fiber optics, copper cabling, and wireless technologies.
• Proven leadership ability to motivate and manage a team.
• Excellent understanding of health and safety regulations in telecoms.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, train, and mentor field technicians in telecom installations and maintenance.
• Coordinate daily field activities and allocate resources to meet project timelines and SLAs.
• Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with specs, safety standards, and company policies.
• Provide on-the-job technical guidance and problem-solving support to the field team.
• Enforce health and safety policies on all job sites.
• Monitor team performance, conduct performance reviews, and identify training needs.
• Maintain records of work completed, equipment used, and site reports.
• Liaise with project managers, clients and stakeholders for smooth execution and client satisfaction.
• Manage inventory of tools, equipment, and materials; ensure stock levels.
• Respond to emergencies or critical service issues in the field.
