Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Telecommunications Tower Technician in Mahikeng, North West, to support construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of towers and RF systems.

You will work at heights, read technical drawings, and collaborate with a crew to meet project specifications while upholding stringent safety standards and quality controls.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Tower Technician or in a similar field.
• Proven experience working at heights and climbing techniques.
• Ability to read technical documentation, including tower plans and RF schematics.
• Proficiency with test equipment such as signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and power meters.

Responsibilities

• Install, assemble, and maintain telecommunications towers and associated hardware.
• Perform line sweeps, signal testing, and troubleshooting of RF equipment and cabling.
• Install and configure antennas, feeders, and related transmission equipment.
• Conduct regular inspections of towers and equipment for structural integrity and operational efficiency.
• Execute repairs and upgrades to tower infrastructure and equipment.
• Adhere to safety protocols and climbing procedures while working at heights.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and site plans.
• Work as part of a crew to complete projects on time and to specification.
• Maintain accurate site logs, reports, and inventory of materials.
