Placements24 is seeking certified and experienced Telecommunications Tower Climber & Rigging Specialists for projects in and around Paarl, Western Cape. This physically demanding role involves ascending towers to install, maintain, and repair antennas, transmission lines, and related hardware, ensuring safe execution.

You will work with a team, follow safety regulations, and gain exposure to major infrastructure projects while advancing your rigging and telecoms skills.

Formación

• Certified Tower Climber with recognized qualification.
• Experience as tower climber and rigger in the telecommunications industry.
• Strong knowledge of rigging techniques and working at height.

Responsabilidades

• Climb telecommunication towers to access installation and maintenance points.
• Install, align, and attach antennas, transmission lines, and related hardware onto towers.
• Perform routine inspections and maintenance on tower structures and installed equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair issues with antenna systems, cabling, and connectors at height.
• Execute rigging operations to hoist and secure equipment and materials to and from the tower.
• Ensure compliance with all safety policies, industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct pre-climb inspections and ensure safety gear is in good working order.
• Work effectively as part of a team with ground crew and site managers.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and equipment checks.
• Assist in assembly and disassembly of tower structures as required.

About the Role

Our client, a prominent player in the telecommunications infrastructure sector, is seeking certified and experienced Telecommunications Tower Climber & Rigging Specialists for projects in and around Paarl, Western Cape. This physically demanding role involves ascending telecommunication towers to install, maintain, and repair antenna systems, transmission lines, and associated hardware. You will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient execution of work at heights, adhering strictly to all safety regulations and industry best practices. The ideal candidate is physically fit, comfortable with heights, possesses strong rigging skills, and has a solid understanding of telecommunications hardware. Safety is paramount, and a commitment to maintaining a zero-incident work environment is essential. This role is critical to ensuring the reliable operation and expansion of wireless communication networks.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely climb telecommunication towers to access installation and maintenance points.
• Install, align, and attach antennas, transmission lines, and related hardware onto towers.

Requirements

• Certified Tower Climber (e.g., from a recognized training provider).
• Proven experience working as a tower climber and rigger in the telecommunications industry.
• Strong knowledge of rigging techniques, safety procedures, and equipment used for working at height.
• Proficiency in installing and maintaining various types of antennas, transmission lines, and related components.
• Excellent physical condition, including strength, stamina, and agility, with a demonstrated ability to work at heights comfortably and safely.
• Understanding of telecommunications network infrastructure.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions.
• Strong safety consciousness and adherence to protocols.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• First Aid and CPR certifications are a plus.
