Placements24 is seeking a skilled Telecommunications Technician to join the Polokwane team. The role covers installation, maintenance, and repair of telecom infrastructure, including network cabling and fiber optics across Limpopo sites.

Applicants should have proven telecom experience, knowledge of cabling standards, and proficiency with OTDRs, fusion splicers, and network analyzers. A valid driver's license and willingness to travel are required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Telecommunications Technician or similar role.
• Solid understanding of network cabling standards, fiber optics, and telecommunication equipment.
• Proficiency with testing equipment such as OTDRs, fusion splicers, and network analyzers.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing time effectively.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout the Polokwane region.
• Relevant certifications in telecommunications or networking are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, and test structured cabling systems, including copper and fiber optic networks.
• Troubleshoot and repair communication lines, equipment, and systems, identifying and resolving faults efficiently.
• Perform maintenance on telecommunications infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Read and interpret network diagrams, blueprints, and technical specifications.
• Work at heights and in various environmental conditions as required by project demands.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and industry best practices during installation and maintenance activities in Polokwane.
