Outsized is seeking a Senior Telecom Software Engineer to design, build, integrate, and operate next‑gen telecom platforms in a complex OSS/BSS landscape.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, deploy, and support complex telecom software platforms and services.

• Deliver solutions across OSS/BSS domains: customer management, catalog, orders, provisioning, charging, billing, and settlements.

• Apply TM Forum Open APIs and Open Digital Architecture principles where relevant.

We are supporting a client on a live requirement for a highly experienced Senior Telecom Software Engineer to design, build, integrate, and operate next-generation telecommunications platforms.

This is not a general software engineering role. We are specifically looking for engineers with genuine, hands‑on experience across Telecom OSS/BSS environments, combined with strong backend software engineering capability.

The ideal consultant will have worked within an MNO, MVNO, broadband, FTTH, FWA, satellite, or similar telecom environment, and understand how customer, product, order, provisioning, charging, billing, and assurance platforms fit together end‑to‑end.

What you will do:

• Design, build, test, deploy, and support complex telecom software platforms and services.
• Develop scalable, resilient, cloud‑native applications using Java and/or C#.
• Build reusable platform capabilities rather than relying solely on vendor‑product customisation.
• Deliver solutions across key OSS/BSS domains, including:
• Customer Management.
• Product Catalogue and Product Offers.
• Order Capture and Order Management.
• Service Fulfilment and Provisioning.
• Charging, Rating, and Billing.
• Payments and Balance Management.
• Settlement and Revenue Processing.
• CDR and Usage Processing.
• Assurance and Support Management.
• Design and deliver integrations across legacy, vendor, partner, and internal systems.
• Develop RESTful APIs and event‑driven integration solutions.

What we are looking for:

• 8+ years of software engineering experience.
• At least 5+ years of hands‑on Telecom OSS/BSS experience.
• Strong backend development experience using Java and/or C#.
• Proven experience building or integrating solutions across multiple OSS/BSS domains.
• Experience within MNO, MVNO, broadband, FTTH, FWA, satellite, or related telecom environments.
• Strong experience with API‑led integration and distributed systems.
• Good understanding of cloud‑native architecture, microservices, and modern engineering practices.
• Experience working across complex legacy, vendor, and modern technology environments.
• Strong troubleshooting capability across billing, charging, provisioning, order, customer, and usage‑related systems.
