Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Telecom Fiber Optic Field Technician to join our remote-first team serving the Western Cape. While the role is remote in nature, it requires field deployment and travel to customer sites to install, maintain and repair fiber networks.

You will work independently, conduct site surveys, splice and terminate fiber, test with OTDR and power meters, and ensure safety and documentation. We offer travel allowances, a company vehicle, medical aid, and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Fiber Optic Technician or similar role.
• Proficiency with OTDR and fiber testing equipment.
• Knowledge of splicing and termination techniques.
• Ability to read network diagrams and docs.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Strong customer service and independent field work ability.

Responsibilities
