Job summary

Profile Personnel is seeking an experienced Engineering Technician to join our team in Gqeberha. You will provide specialised engineering and hydraulic support on material handling equipment, in both workshop and customer sites.

The role requires high-quality repairs, reading schematics and adherence to safety standards. The ideal candidate holds a trade certification with at least 5 years in related work, including forklift equipment.

Qualifications

• Grade 12/Matric or equivalent.
• Qualified Welder, Turner/Machinist, Fitter or Boilermaker with relevant trade certification.
• Minimum 5 years' relevant experience, including experience with forklifts or similar material handling equipment.
• Valid Code 8 driver's licence.
• Strong hydraulic equipment repair experience.
• Ability to read and interpret technical information and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional and efficient technical support to customers.
• Perform high-quality repairs, maintenance and manufacturing of material handling components.
• Conduct welding, machining, fitting and related engineering work.
• Operate lathes, milling machines, grinders and welding equipment safely and effectively.
• Diagnose and repair hydraulic equipment and systems.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, manuals and specifications.
• Ensure all work complies with applicable safety standards and procedures.
• Communicate effectively with customers, workshop staff and management.
• Maintain accurate, high-quality workmanship and a clean, organised work area.
• Participate in standby and overtime duties when required.
