Job summary

Scania South Africa is seeking a skilled Diesel Technician to install, maintain, and repair heavy vehicles and systems for customers in Gauteng. You will work with a team to deliver high-quality service, applying your technical knowledge and workshop experience.

The role requires a Matric/N3 and a Diesel Technician trade certificate, with at least 3 years of hands-on workshop experience on heavy vehicles. You will follow safety standards and improve processes for timely and safe repairs.

Qualifications

• Matric certificate or N3 or equivalent.
• Qualified Diesel Technician with Trade Test Certificate.
• MINIMUM of 3 YEARS Experience NOT- NEGOTIABLE.
• Previous workshop Experience with repairing and maintaining heavy vehicles.

Role Summary

Installs, maintains, or repairs items or products ordered and supports customers through specialized technical or scientific knowledge/product applications in a customer's home or place of business. Maintains an ongoing relationship with selected customers and sales staff, particularly those focused on technical applications of the product or service. Uses technical knowledge of products, product availability, sales territories, and individual customers to provide a key communications link to the customer. May handle multiple product markets. Typically requires relevant experience, completion of technical product training, and demonstration of high-level product and process knowledge of a technical nature.

Job Responsibilities

The main responsibility of the Technician is to perform high quality repairs and maintenance. The Technician’s competencies and a continuous improvement of the technical knowledge and skills in combination with a commercial mind-set, will ensure high level performance and customer satisfaction. Satisfied customers, on time delivery and safety at work is achieved by following defined processes, standards and guidelines. The Technician contributes to Scania’s profitability and safety on our roads.

Applicant must meet these minimum requirements

• Matric certificate or N3 or equivalent
• Qualified Diesel Technician with Trade Test Certificate
