SUMMARY: POSITION INFO:

The Technical Service Representative position involves providing technical support for roofing to the sales team both on-site and in the office.

  • Good understanding of the roofing and construction industry, including heavy-duty coatings.
  • Self-confident and persistent.
  • Technical background with quality control experience.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Computer literate.
  • Basic report writing skills.
  • Willing and able to travel throughout Sub-Saharan Africa when required.
  • Must have a valid passport.

Performance Areas

Technical Support to Sales

  • Support sales representatives and their clients.
  • Ensure specification compliance through on-site inspections and sample panels.
  • Provide technical assistance, training, and demonstrations regarding product application, limitations, performance, and properties.
  • Provide samples and assist with product development and evaluation.
  • Conduct investigations and follow up on customer complaints, including field and lab work.

Administration

  • Maintain accurate records on each project.
  • Submit timely and accurate technical service reports.
  • Compile general reports on digital platforms and maintain detailed reference reports for major projects.

Compliance

  • Adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure health and safety protocols are followed, including PPE usage.
  • Properly use and store company tools and equipment, taking responsibility for personal possession of equipment.
