Job summary

Elchemie Recruitment seeks a Technical Sales Representative / Engineer to blend strong technical knowledge with B2B sales. The role focuses on water treatment, dosing equipment and hygiene solutions, with regular travel to customer sites.

North West preferred, Gauteng considered. The ideal candidate has 3–4 years' technical experience and 2–3 years' B2B sales, bilingual Afrikaans/English, and a valid Code B license with own vehicle.

Qualifications

• BSc Chemistry / Chemical Engineering, National Diploma, BTech or related technical qualification.
• Minimum 3–4 years' technical experience and 2–3 years' B2B sales / business development experience.
• Experience in technical, industrial, chemical or water treatment environment.
• Fully bilingual in Afrikaans and English (verbal and written).
• Valid Code B driver's licence and own reliable vehicle.
• Willing and able to travel regularly to customer sites.
• Strong communication, customer service and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage customer relationships.

Responsibilities

• Develop new B2B business and identify new sales opportunities.
• Prospect and canvass for new customers.
• Maintain, develop and grow existing customer relationships.
• Prepare quotations and proposals.
• Upsell and cross-sell products and services.
• Achieve agreed sales and business development targets.
• Conduct customer site visits and provide technical support.
• Assess customer requirements and recommend suitable technical solutions.
• Install, maintain and service water meters and dosing equipment.
• Provide softener servicing and assist with specification requirements.
• Troubleshoot customer queries and provide practical technical solutions.
• Prepare customer reports and maintain accurate records.
• Develop and manage SLAs where required.
