Job summary

Elchemie Recruitment is seeking a Project Sales Engineer for water treatment in Gauteng. The role blends strong engineering knowledge with sales to design, propose and deliver water treatment solutions for commercial and industrial clients.

The ideal candidate will build relationships, identify opportunities and manage projects from conception to completion, including site visits and occasional travel.

Qualifications

• BTech or BSc Engineering (Chemical or Mechanical) or equivalent.
• 2–5 years' experience in the water treatment industry.
• Demonstrated experience in technical sales and project engineering.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Valid South African driver’s licence and willingness to travel locally and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities within commercial/industrial water treatment.
• Build and maintain relationships with customers, consultants, contractors and developers.
• Manage the full sales process from enquiry to order placement.
• Prepare and present technical proposals and solution-based presentations.
• Negotiate quotations to maximise conversion and promote company services.
• Design water treatment systems based on customer requirements and analyses.
• Prepare project costings, proposals and tender submissions.
• Develop process flow diagrams, equipment specs and control philosophies.
• Provide technical support to customers and liaise with suppliers and internal teams.
• Support FAT, commissioning and after-sales service.
