The Technical Project Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of infrastructure, cloud, and transformation projects across a diverse client base. This role champions the use of robust project management methodologies, applying best practices with a lean and agile mindset to deliver high-quality technical solutions that meet client expectations.
As a key member of the Professional Services team, the Technical Project Manager oversees the full project lifecycle — from presales engagement and planning through to execution, go-live, and closure. They work closely with clients to understand business and technical requirements, translating these into structured project plans with clear milestones, deliverables, and success criteria. A strong ability to balance process, structure, and delivery is essential.
The Technical Project Manager collaborates with cross-functional teams including engineers, consultants, and third-party vendors, ensuring that resources are effectively coordinated and that technical work is delivered on time, within budget, and to specification.
They proactively identify risks, manage scope changes, and adapt plans to accommodate evolving client needs or technical constraints.
The Technical Project Manager may also be deployed directly into client environments to manage internal or third-party projects on behalf of the client. In these engagements, the Technical Project Manager acts as a trusted extension of the client’s team, bringing project delivery expertise, technical oversight, and agile methodology to ensure successful outcomes.
This flexible model allows clients to benefit from:
- Experienced project leadership without needing to hire full-time staff.
- Technical oversight from a resource who understands infrastructure, cloud, and Microsoft technologies.
- Seamless integration with internal teams and external vendors.
- Established project delivery standards and methodologies applied to client‑specific initiatives.
These engagements may include:
- Managing client‑led infrastructure refreshes or cloud migrations.
- Coordinating third‑party vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Supporting M&A‑related IT transitions.
- Leading transformation or automation initiatives.
This role also contributes to the development and refinement of internal project delivery processes, templates, and tools, helping to raise the standard of project management across the business.
Ultimately, the Technical Project Manager’s leadership ensures that projects are delivered with precision, agility, and a strong focus on client satisfaction and operational excellence.
