Tumaini Consulting is seeking an experienced Technical Manager based in Johannesburg to oversee technical and food safety across two sites, ensuring compliance with industry standards, retailer requirements and SA legislation.

The role requires a qualification in Food Science/Technology/Microbiology, 5+ years in technical/quality roles, and 2+ years in people management, plus FSSC 22000 or similar. Travel between sites and meat processing/Halal environment experience are valued.

Formación

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a technical, quality, or food safety management role within food manufacturing.
• At least 2 years' experience managing managers.
• Working knowledge of FSSC 22000 or another GFSI-benchmarked food safety scheme.
• Sound understanding of South African food safety, environmental, and occupational health and safety legislation.
• Experience working with retailers and their technical and quality requirements.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel between two sites.
• Meat processing experience.
• Experience within a Halal-certified manufacturing environment.
• Lead Auditor training.
