Job summary

Transnet is seeking an experienced Maintenance/Asset Care professional to manage the upkeep of TPT Saldanha assets, equipment, and facilities. The role focuses on safety, reliability, and cost-effective operations within the Port environment.

You will contribute to capital project planning and ensure adherence to relevant regulations. Applicants should have a Mechanical Engineering diploma or degree and a track record of plant maintenance with leadership experience.

Qualifications

• Essential: National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• Advantageous: BSC/BEng/BTech in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5 years experience in Plant maintenance with 2 years in first-line management or supervision.
• Advantageous: completed Transnet EIT Program or relevant NQF 5 qualification.

Responsibilities

• Support development and implementation of Asset Care Strategy.
• Ensure efficient asset utilization and productivity.
• Support CAPEX spend management and cost control.
• Develop and implement planned maintenance programmes.

Position Purpose

To maintain all TPT Equipment, Plant and Buildings (leased and owned) to ensure they exceed operational efficiency and safety standards in order to comply with the various acts pertaining to law and to deliver world class terminal operations. The design, control and administration of all capital projects for the Port. Ensure cost efficient solution that deliver continuous improvement in equipment availability and reliability.

Qualifications and Experience
