Job summary

Unilever requires a Technical Lead for Phoenix Factory in Durban to lead maintenance, drive improvements and ensure equipment reliability. You will oversee PM, spares, and Capex activities while coaching operators and ensuring strong safety practices.

Role demands hands-on oversight of maintenance, troubleshooting, and cost control in a local setting. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of FMCG experience and relevant trades or engineering degree.

Qualifications

• Must hold N4–N6 with Millwright Trade Test and 3–5 years in FMCG or heavy manufacturing.
• Degree in BSc/Eng or BTech with around 5 years of production experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute maintenance plans with planner support and focused technician.
• Lead cell maintenance, improve OEE and manage asset registers.
• Engage with OEMs on health audits and complex breakdowns.
• Roll out condition monitoring and report on performance.
• Drive cost-saving initiatives and ensure safety compliance.
• Provide coaching to operators and apprentices.
