Placements24 seeks an In-House Counsel (Commercial Contracts) to bolster its Centurion-based legal team. You will draft, review, and negotiate SaaS, vendor, and partnership agreements while guiding business stakeholders on risk and compliance.

The role emphasizes practical legal advice, strong drafting, and proactive collaboration with sales, procurement, and BD in a fast-growing tech environment.

Qualifications

• Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in commercial contracts.
• Strong contract drafting, negotiation, and interpretation skills.
• Knowledge of technology law, IP, and data privacy is advantageous.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Hybrid work-ready with Centurion, Gauteng commuting flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements including SaaS, vendor, partnerships, and NDAs.
• Provide timely legal advice to internal teams on contractual matters.
• Ensure contracts comply with applicable laws and company policies.
• Manage contract lifecycle: renewals, amendments, terminations.
• Develop standardized templates and playbooks for contracts.
• Identify legal risks and advise on commercial transactions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to close deals and resolve disputes.
• Stay updated on legal developments affecting the business.
