Job summary

MA Automotive Tool and Die (PTY) Ltd is seeking a Tooling Supervisor to lead a skilled team and ensure optimal tool manufacturing and maintenance in our South African facility. The role focuses on effective shop floor planning, tool readiness for production, and maintaining high-quality outputs in an automotive manufacturing environment.

Applicants should hold an NQF Level 4 Diploma or NQF 5 Certificate, with at least 5 years of tool making experience and supervisory skills.

Qualifications

• NQF Level 4 Diploma or NQF 5 Certificate required.
• Qualified Tool, Jig and Die Maker with Supervisory skills.
• Minimum 5 years tool making experience in automotive manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Supervise team members on the shop floor and coordinate tooling activities.
• Plan shop floor operations to ensure tool readiness for production.
• Oversee production output to maintain efficiency and quality.
• Manage Tool PM/CM and tool readiness activities on the floor.
• Complete tool manufacture/repair documentation accurately and promptly.
• Ensure adherence to quality specifications and quality management systems.

Job description

Primary purpose of the job:

To supervise team and ensure optimal tool manufacturing and maintenance as per company requirement.

Key Performance Areas include but are not limited to:

• Supervise team members
• Effective shop floor planning & tool readiness for production
• Supervise team members to ensure optimal production output
• Effective shop floor planning – Tool PM, CM & toll readiness
• Complete all tool manufacture / repair documentation accurately and Timeously
• Ensure that all quality specifications and quality management systems are
• always adhered to

Knowledge and Skills required:

1. Understanding of Technical tooling concepts
2. Production planning process to ensure smooth production
3. Quality specifications and systems with respect to customer requirements.
4. Discipline and grievance procedure
5. Goal setting of toolmakers
