Job summary

Ikwezi Mining (Pty) Ltd is seeking a shift supervisor to manage the Packing Plant, ensuring production targets and good housekeeping. You will supervise lines 1 and 2, coordinate duties, and generate shift reports to track performance.

The role requires 2–3 years in manufacturing, with emphasis on discipline, teamwork, and problem-solving under pressure. Cement-industry experience is preferred; safety and quality adherence is essential.

Qualifications

• Senior Certificate.
• 2–3 years' experience in manufacturing, preferably in cement.
• Experience in fabricating, fitting and maintaining mechanical systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities, Tasks and Activities

Health & Safety:

• Compliance with all EH&S guidelines and procedures.

Key Tasks:

• Supervise manpower-related planning.
• Production output target:350 pallets per shift.
• Supervise Packing Plant operations.
• Generate hourly and shift reports.
• Ensure spotless housekeeping and cleaning in Packing Plant Lines 1 & 2 at the end of each shift.
• Submit reports after every shift.
• Oversee Bulk Bag operations.
• Maintain discipline in Packing Plant Lines 1 & 2.
• Ensure zero lost production time.
• Minimise spillages and perform RCA where required.
• Supervise department staff.
• Coordinate and allocate duties to department staff to ensure effective operations.
• Ensure the department meets production targets.
• Conduct routine checks of all areas to ensure they are neat and orderly.
• Assist with breakdowns and maintenance.

Other

• Perform any other related duties in the interest of CEMZA as instructed.
• Work according to Integrated Environmental and Quality Management System requirements.
• Work according to instructions and procedures pertaining to the assigned operational function.
• Abide by all applicable legal requirements, company policies, and practices.

Qualification & Experience

• Senior Certificate.
• Minimum2–3 years' experience in manufacturing, preferably in the cement industry.
• Experience in fabricating, fitting, and assembling structural components of mechanical systems, as well as maintaining and repairing machinery, will be an advantage.
