TEAM LEADER – MAINTENANCE TEAM

About the Role

We are looking for a Team Leader – Maintenance to oversee and coordinate a maintenance team, ensuring that work is completed efficiently, safely and to a high standard.

The successful candidate should have practical experience with electrical and solar installations, as well as experience leading or supervising a team. A formal electrician qualification is not required, but a good practical understanding of electrical and solar work is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise and coordinate the maintenance team.
• Plan and allocate daily maintenance tasks to team members.
• Assist with and oversee electrical and solar installation and maintenance work.
• Ensure work is completed correctly, efficiently and within required timeframes.
• Conduct regular checks on completed work and maintain quality standards.

• Ensure all tools, equipment and materials are available and properly maintained.
• Monitor team performance and provide guidance and support where required.

• Complete relevant maintenance records, checklists and reports.
• Communicate effectively with management regarding maintenance requirements, progress and issues.

Minimum Requirements

• Previous experience in a maintenance, electrical or solar environment.
• Practical knowledge of electrical and solar installations.
• Previous team leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong understanding and awareness of workplace health and safety.
• Good problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Valid driver's licence would be advantageous.
• Must be locally based in Howick, Hilton or Pietermaritzburg.
