Job summary

Rivers Labour Consultants seeks a hands-on Team Leader – Maintenance to oversee a dedicated maintenance team in Howick. You will coordinate daily tasks and support electrical and solar installations, ensuring work is safe, efficient and up to standard.

The ideal candidate has practical electrical/solar knowledge and prior leadership experience, with a commitment to safety and quality workmanship. Local residence in the area is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance, electrical or solar environments.
• Practical knowledge of electrical and solar installations.
• Previous team leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong awareness of workplace health and safety.
• Good problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Valid driver’s license would be advantageous.
• Locally based in Howick, Hilton or Pietermaritzburg.

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise and coordinate the maintenance team.
• Plan and allocate daily maintenance tasks to team members.
• Assist with and oversee electrical and solar installation and maintenance work.
• Ensure work is completed correctly, efficiently and within timeframes.
• Conduct checks on completed work and maintain quality standards.
• Identify maintenance issues and assist with troubleshooting.
• Ensure tools, equipment and materials are available and maintained.
• Monitor team performance and provide guidance and support.
• Ensure adherence to company procedures and safety requirements.
• Promote a strong health and safety culture within the team.
