Job summary

Atlas Technica is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our rapidly growing team in a remote Cape Town setting. You will work with other Systems Engineers in a highly collaborative environment, delivering remote IT support across multiple clients and maintaining robust technical growth.

Key responsibilities include handling a broad range of issues, managing tickets, documenting processes, and following strict change control procedures.

Qualifications

• 2 years IT experience in Desktop/Systems roles.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 stack (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Intune, Azure AD).
• Systems Administration knowledge: Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy.
• Familiarity with endpoint protection and basic virtualization.
• Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing and firewalls.

Responsibilities

• Provide remote IT support via shared inbound queue for multiple clients.
• Use ticketing system to manage support queries.
• Maintain documentation and comply with organizational guidelines.
• Adhere to change control procedures.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Systems Engineer to join our rapidly growing organization. This is a highly technical role providing excellent career development opportunities for the successful candidate. You will be working with other Systems Engineers and Sr. Systems Engineers in a very collaborative environment which allows for very quick technical growth.

Responsibilities:

• Provide remote IT support through a shared inbound call queue, assisting users across multiple clients with a broad range of technical issues. Work across technologies and support needs, developing a well-rounded skill set that supports continued growth within Atlas Technica.
• Use of a ticketing system to manage support queries
• Maintain documentation and comply with rules and guidelines of the organization
• Adherence to strict change control procedures

Requirements:

• 2 years of IT Experience (Desktop Support, Systems Engineering, Systems Administration)
• End-User Support / Desktop Support: Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, desktop, and mobile device troubleshooting
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Support of primarily Microsoft 365 stack (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Intune, Azure AD)
• Systems Administration: Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server Platforms as well as Active Directory, Group Policy, good if you are familiar with Citrix XenApp
• Support of Sophos or similar products for endpoint threat management
• Basic understanding of virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V
• Understanding of networking: TCP/IP, LAN / DMZ / WAN, DHCP, DNS, Routing, Switching, and Firewalls

Desirable Qualities:

• Financial industry experience, including familiarity with market vendor applications: Bloomberg, Thompson Reuters, FactSet, CapIQ
• Significant experience in an MSP environment, particularly utilizing the ConnectWise suite of products
• Exposure to/ability to support workloads in Azure or AWS
• Experience with vendors such as Google Workspace, Box, Dropbox, Duo, Okta, AirWatch
• Experience with and ability to support Citrix XenApp or similar products
• Experience with cybersecurity solutions such as Carbon Black, Cylance, Crowdstrike, Cyberhat
• Experience with Mimecast or other mail security gateway solutions such as IronPort or Proofpoint
• More than a basic understanding of Storage and Virtualization platforms such as Nimble, Pure Storage, NetApp, EMC, VMware, Hyper-V, XenServer
