Job summary

PBT Group is seeking an experienced System Analyst to join a dynamic delivery team on a contract basis in Johannesburg, South Africa. You will bridge business requirements with technology, analyze complex problems, and produce high-quality technical documentation to enable successful solution delivery.

The role involves engaging stakeholders, designing scalable system solutions, and collaborating with architects, developers and testers in a fast-paced enterprise environment.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree or diploma in IT, CS, IS or related field.
• Minimum 5 years' experience as System Analyst or Technical Business Analyst.
• Proven experience producing detailed functional and technical documentation.
• Strong understanding of enterprise systems and system integration.
• Experience in Agile and/or Waterfall delivery environments.
• Banking or Financial Services experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Engage with business stakeholders to understand, analyse and document requirements.

• Facilitate workshops and requirements gathering sessions.

• Design system integrations and interface specifications.
• Define API contracts and system interactions.
• Collaborate with Architects and Development teams to ensure solution feasibility.
• Analyse and document system integrations across multiple platforms.
• Work with RESTful and SOAP-based services.
• Define message structures using JSON and XML.
• Analyse queue-based and batch processing solutions.
• Support API integration design and troubleshooting.
• Work closely with Developers, Test Analysts, Product Owners and Business Analysts throughout the SDLC.
• Support solution clarification during development and testing.
• Assist with defect analysis and production support where required.
• Ensure solution documentation remains accurate and up to date.

Key Responsibilities

Business & Systems Analysis

Minimum Requirements

• Relevant Degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field.

• Strong understanding of enterprise systems and system integration.
• Experience working within Agile and/or Waterfall delivery environments.
• Banking or Financial Services experience is highly advantageous.
