Job summary

Stethoscope Sa is seeking an Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary to provide direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse. The role follows SANC, DOH and National Core standards to deliver safe, evidence-based nursing.

Responsibilities include maintaining aseptic technique, managing equipment and stock, assisting with anaesthesia induction, and ensuring clear communication with patients and care teams to support quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Enrolled Nursing Auxiliary qualification.
• Current registration with South African Nursing Council (SANC).
• Minimum of 5 years as an enrolled nurse assistant.
• Post-Op nursing experience.
• Floor nurse and Anaesthetic experience.
• Knowledge of sterilisation, disinfection, and aseptic technique.
• Knowledge of surgical procedures and patient safety.
• Infection control & Prevention.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care under RN supervision.
• Contribute to holistic patient care.
• Maintain aseptic technique when opening packs and consumables.
• Assist with preserving safe and economical use of supplies and equipment.
• Handle equipment, stock and medication safely and competently.
• Assist with positioning and transfer of patients as needed.
• Communicate with patients regarding their care.
• Assist anaesthetist during induction of anaesthesia.
• Promote good relations with patients, relatives and visitors.
• Record and maintain health records and documentation policy.
