Job summary

Qualifications

• Eligible to work as an Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary with current SANC registration.
• Post-Op nursing experience is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years as an Enrolled Nurse Assistant.
• Knowledge of sterilisation, disinfection, aseptic and sterile technique.
• Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and patient safety.
• Infection prevention and control awareness.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct or indirect nursing care under supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Adhere to South African Nursing Council and Department of Health standards.
• Practice patient care within scope of practice and assume responsibility for activities.
• Maintain aseptic techniques when handling packs and consumables.
• Assist anaesthetist during induction of anaesthesia.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and manage stocks and equipment.
• Record and document health records and specimen registers.
• Communicate care plans and changes in patient health with team.
