The role combines on-site collaboration with remote flexibility, emphasizing demand forecasting, inventory control, and cross-functional coordination to minimize costs and meet demand.

The ideal candidate has a 4+ year track record in supply chain planning, strong analytical ability, and proficiency with SAP or similar ERP systems.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or related field.
• At least 4 years in supply chain planning, inventory management or logistics coordination.
• Proven experience with demand forecasting techniques and software.
• Strong grasp of inventory management principles and optimization strategies.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills.
• Experience with SAP and supply chain planning software; effective hybrid communication.

Responsabilidades

About the Role

Our client, a prominent FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) company with significant operations in the Soweto region, is seeking an experienced Supply Chain Planner. This hybrid role is pivotal in optimizing the flow of goods from production to the end consumer, ensuring efficiency, minimizing costs, and meeting demand. You will be responsible for demand forecasting, inventory management, and coordinating logistics activities. The successful candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of supply chain dynamics, operating within a framework that balances on-site collaboration with remote flexibility. This is a key role for influencing the operational success of a major consumer goods brand.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop accurate demand forecasts based on historical data, market trends, and sales input.
• Plan and manage inventory levels across multiple distribution points to ensure optimal stock availability and minimize carrying costs.
• Coordinate with production, logistics, and sales teams to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
• Optimize transportation routes and methods to reduce costs and improve delivery times.
• Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers (3PLs) and other supply chain partners.
• Identify and mitigate potential supply chain risks and disruptions.
• Monitor key supply chain performance indicators (KPIs) and report on variances.
• Participate in S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning) meetings to align supply chain plans with business objectives.
• Implement process improvements to enhance supply chain efficiency and effectiveness.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Research, Business Administration, or a related field.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience in supply chain planning, inventory management, or logistics coordination.
• Proven experience in demand forecasting techniques and software.
• Strong understanding of inventory management principles and optimization strategies.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and supply chain planning software.Effective communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working in a hybrid environment.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
• Familiarity with the FMCG sector is highly advantageous.
