About the Role

Our client, a significant player in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry, is seeking an experienced and strategic Supply Chain Manager to oversee its logistics and distribution operations. This role, based in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal , is crucial for ensuring the efficient and cost-effective flow of goods from production to the end consumer. You will be responsible for managing inventory, optimizing warehousing, coordinating transportation, and driving continuous improvement within the supply chain. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of FMCG logistics challenges and opportunities, with a proven ability to implement robust supply chain solutions. This position offers a hybrid work model, blending essential on-site operational oversight with remote strategic planning, providing a dynamic work environment. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all aspects of the FMCG supply chain, including procurement, warehousing, inventory management, and transportation.
• Develop and implement supply chain strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service levels.
• Manage relationships with suppliers, logistics providers, and other third-party partners.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards.
• Optimize inventory levels to meet demand while minimizing holding costs and stockouts.
• Lead and mentor the supply chain team, fostering a culture of performance and continuous improvement.
• Implement and utilize supply chain technologies and software for planning, tracking, and analysis.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Collaborate with production, sales, and marketing teams to align supply chain operations with business needs.
• Develop and manage the supply chain budget effectively.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in supply chain management, with a significant portion in the FMCG sector.
• Proven experience in managing complex logistics operations, including warehousing and transportation.
• Strong knowledge of supply chain best practices, inventory management techniques, and forecasting methods.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in supply chain management software (e.g., WMS, TMS, ERP systems).
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
• Experience with a hybrid work model is advantageous.
• Must be legally authorized to work in South Africa .
• Familiarity with the operational landscape of Richards Bay and its surrounding regions.
