Job summary

Placements24 is recruiting a seasoned Supply Chain Logistics Manager for our Centurion, Gauteng hub. The role oversees end-to-end logistics, including procurement, inventory, warehousing, and transportation, with a focus on cost efficiency and service levels in a hybrid work setup.

You will lead a dedicated team, implement lean improvements, and collaborate with procurement, manufacturing, and sales to align supply chain strategy with business needs. Prior FMCG experience is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, or a related field.
• Master’s degree or relevant professional certification (e.g., APICS) is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 6-8 years of progressive experience in supply chain and logistics management, with a significant portion within the FMCG industry.
• Proven experience in managing complex warehouse operations, transportation networks, and inventory control systems.
• Proficiency in supply chain management software (e.g., WMS, TMS) and ERP systems.
• Demonstrated leadership, team management and interpersonal skills.
• Lean or Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage end-to-end supply chain strategies and operations, including warehousing, inventory control, and transportation logistics.
• Optimize logistics processes to reduce costs, improve efficiency, and enhance delivery performance across Gauteng and beyond.
• Manage and mentor a team of logistics and supply chain professionals, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
• Oversee inventory levels, ensuring optimal stock availability while minimizing carrying costs and stockouts.
• Negotiate and manage contracts with third-party logistics providers (3PLs) and transportation carriers to ensure competitive rates and service levels.
• Implement and utilize supply chain technology and systems to enhance visibility, tracking, and reporting capabilities.
• Collaborate with procurement, manufacturing, and sales departments to ensure alignment and responsiveness to business needs.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the supply chain and logistics functions, reporting on performance and identifying areas for improvement.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards within warehousing and transportation operations.
