Job summary

Premier FMCG in Kroonstad, South Africa, invites applications for an extrusion plant supervisor responsible for output, quality and packing compliance at the extrusion line. You will lead production, ensure safety and hygiene, and guide the team to meet daily targets while coordinating maintenance and asset care.

The role requires Matric, PLC experience, and familiarity with milling environments; HACCP knowledge is advantageous. Day shift, with coverage as a reliever for the Extrusion Manager.

Qualifications

• Matric required; HACCP is an added advantage.
• Familiar with PLC-operated extrusion and Instant Porridge/Milling plant.
• Experience in milling environment.
• Commitment to quality, safety and hygiene standards.

Responsibilities

• Achieve daily extrusion production plans.
• Monitor throughput, efficiency and downtime.
• Ensure smooth shift handovers and clear plant status communication.
• Relieve/ stand in for the Extrusion Plant Manager as needed.
• Enforce GMP, HACCP and food safety standards.
• Coordinate maintenance and asset care for extrusion equipment.
• Train and coach operators and develop future leaders.

Job Purpose

To obtain required output, product quality and packing requirements in the Extrusion Plant.

Key Responsibilities

Production Management

• Ensure daily production plans are achieved.
• Monitor throughput, efficiency, and downtime.
• Ensure smooth shift handovers and communication of plant status.
• Relieve/ Stand in for the Extrusion plant Manager

Quality Management

• Ensure products meet specification requirements.
• Verify quality checks are conducted as per SOPs.
• Minimize rework, rejects, and customer complaints.
• Ensure compliance with product recipes and BOMs.

Food Safety & Hygiene

• Maintain GMP, HACCP, and food safety standards.
• Ensure cleaning schedules are followed.

Safety Management

• Enforce PPE and safe work procedures.
• Conduct safety discussions and toolbox talks.

People Management

• Conduct training, coaching, and competency assessments.
• Develop operators and identify future leaders.
• Ensure SOP compliance and accountability.

Asset Care & Maintenance

• Monitor condition of extruders, screws, barrels, cutters, and conveying systems.
• Report defects and raise maintenance work orders.
• Coordinate maintenance activities.

Experience And Qualifications

• Matric
• HACCP will be an added advantage
• Be familiar with PLC operated plant - Extrusion and Instant Porridge Plant
• Have worked in a milling environment
