Placements24 seeks a talented Subsurface Geoscientist to join our client’s integrated team in Randburg, Gauteng. The role focuses on evaluating hydrocarbon resources by integrating geological, geophysical, and engineering data, with emphasis on reservoir characterization and prospectivity.

You will work with Petrel and GeoSec to build 3D models, collaborate with reservoir engineers, and contribute to field development plans.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Geology, Geophysics, or a related Earth Science discipline.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in subsurface geology or geosciences within the Oil & Gas industry.
• Proficiency with industry-standard geological modeling and interpretation software.
• Strong understanding of sequence stratigraphy, sedimentology, and structural geology.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
• Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Experience working in the Randburg, Gauteng, ZA area is a plus for the hybrid work model.

Responsibilities

• Integrate geological, geophysical, and engineering data to build comprehensive subsurface models.
• Perform detailed reservoir characterization, including structural and stratigraphic analysis.
• Conduct prospectivity assessments and contribute to exploration strategy development.
• Utilize geological modeling software (e.g., Petrel, GeoSec) to create 3D static models.
