Job summary

Placements24 seeks a dedicated Subsea Pipeline Engineer to join the Kimberley engineering team. You will design, analyze, install and manage the integrity of subsea pipelines for oil and gas transport, ensuring compliance with strict industry standards and safety regulations in the Northern Cape region.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Mechanical or Civil Engineering with 8+ years of subsea pipeline experience, proficient in PIPESIM, OFFPIPE and FEA tools, and capable of leading

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
• 8+ years in subsea pipeline engineering.
• Proficiency with PIPESIM, OFFPIPE and FEA tools.
• Knowledge of subsea hardware, installation methods and integrity management.
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze subsea pipelines, route sizing and material specification.
• Perform stress, fatigue and free span analyses.
• Develop installation procedures and support offshore installation activities.
• Manage pipeline integrity including inspection and corrosion prevention.
• Ensure compliance with industry codes and standards (DNV, API).

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Subsea Pipeline Engineer to join their engineering team in Kimberley. This role is responsible for the design, analysis, installation, and integrity management of subsea pipelines for oil and gas transportation. You will work on complex projects, ensuring compliance with stringent industry standards and safety regulations. This is a critical position within the Oil & Gas industry, contributing to the essential infrastructure that supports energy production in the Northern Cape region.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and analyze subsea pipelines, including route selection, sizing, and material specification.
• Perform stress analysis, fatigue analysis, and free span assessments for pipelines.
• Develop installation procedures and support offshore installation activities.
• Manage pipeline integrity, including inspection, maintenance, and corrosion prevention strategies.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., DNV, API).

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 8 years of experience in subsea pipeline engineering.
• Proficiency in pipeline design software (e.g., PIPESIM, OFFPIPE) and FEA tools.
• Strong understanding of subsea hardware, installation methods, and integrity management.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
