Placements24 is seeking a skilled Subsea Engineer to contribute to offshore projects based in or near Paarl. You will design, specify, install, and operate subsea production systems, including trees, manifolds, pipelines, and control systems.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in subsea engineering within oil and gas, with strong project management and communication skills to support operations from the Paarl region.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Subsea Engineer to contribute to their offshore projects, based in or near Paarl. This role is responsible for the design, specification, installation, and operation of subsea production systems. You will work on complex projects involving subsea trees, manifolds, pipelines, and control systems, ensuring their integrity and performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of offshore engineering principles and a commitment to delivering safe and efficient subsea solutions in a project-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and specify subsea production equipment , including subsea trees, manifolds, and associated components.
• Develop installation procedures and oversee the execution of offshore subsea construction activities.
• Conduct technical reviews and risk assessments for subsea system designs and operations.
• Liaise with vendors, contractors, and clients to ensure project requirements are met.
• Troubleshoot operational issues with existing subsea facilities and implement solutions.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations for subsea engineering.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in subsea engineering within the oil and gas industry.
• Proficiency in subsea equipment design, analysis, and installation practices.
• Experience with subsea control systems , pipelines, and flow assurance is essential.
• Familiarity with relevant industry standards (e.g., API, ISO) and DNV recommended practices.
• Strong project management and communication skills, with the ability to support operations from the Paarl region.
