Job summary

Bright Placements seeks a Maintenance Manager to lead and manage all maintenance operations for a large student residence (≈1600 rooms). You will ensure facilities, infrastructure, and equipment are safe, compliant, and well-maintained to support an optimal living and learning environment.

The role requires overseeing preventative and reactive maintenance, managing internal teams and external contractors, and delivering cost-aware improvements while maintaining service levels.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years in facilities or maintenance management
• Experience managing large residential or student facilities
• Strong leadership and budgeting skills

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance operations across a large residence facility
• Oversee planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance
• Manage maintenance staff and external contractors
• Develop and manage preventative maintenance schedules
• Monitor budgets and control costs
• Ensure safety compliance with OHSA and local regs
• Maintain asset registers and lifecycle plans
• Provide regular maintenance performance reports
